Meet Grace: The Sound Healer Who Leads With Science
Most people who discover sound healing arrive through feeling. A friend brings them to a sound bath. They lie down, the bowls begin to ring, and something shifts. They leave calmer than they came in — and they're not entirely sure why.
Grace wanted to understand the why.
A Different Kind of Background
Before Grace ever picked up a singing bowl, she spent years studying how the human body and mind actually work.
She holds a First Class Honours Master's degree in Psychology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is a member of the Hong Kong Psychological Society. Alongside that, she studied musculoskeletal anatomy at the University of Michigan and human physiology at Duke University — building a foundation in how the body moves, responds, and heals.
That's not a typical path into sound healing. And that's precisely the point.
Grace also trained as a Polestar Certified Pilates Instructor and an ACE Certified Health Coach, deepening her understanding of the nervous system and how it regulates itself naturally — without medication, without force, often simply through the right environment and the right stimulus.
Sound, it turns out, is one of the most effective stimuli we have.
Trained at the Source
Grace's science background didn't replace traditional training — it informed it.
She is a certified Scientific Singing Bowl Therapist, a Himalayan-endorsed Singing Bowl Healer, and holds a Nepalese Sound Healing certificate, having trained in the traditional origins of the practice. She also holds a qualification in Mindfulness-Based Social Emotional Learning, bringing an additional layer of emotional and psychological awareness to her sessions.
What this means in practice: Grace understands both why sound healing works and how to deliver it with care and skill.
Why Science Matters in Sound Healing
Sound healing is a field where tradition and belief carry a lot of weight. That's not without value — these practices have endured across cultures for centuries, and there's real wisdom in that.
But Grace also wants you to know what the research says.
Studies show that sound frequencies can help reduce stress hormones, improve sleep quality, regulate mood, and support the body's natural relaxation and recovery processes. These aren't anecdotal claims. They're findings from the growing field of psychoacoustics — the science of how sound affects the brain and nervous system.
When you lie down in one of Grace's sessions, you're not just experiencing a tradition. You're experiencing something your nervous system is designed to respond to.
You Don't Need to Know Anything to Begin
Here's what Grace wants every first-timer to hear: you don't need a background in wellness, meditation, or anything else to benefit from a sound healing session.
No experience. No special mindset. No right way to feel.
You just come. You lie down. You let the sound do what sound does.
Grace's approach is built to be accessible to anyone — whether you're deeply familiar with mindfulness practices or you've never tried anything like this before. The science works regardless of what you believe going in.
If you've been curious but weren't sure if sound healing was "really for you" — Grace's sessions are a good place to find out.
